    I LOVE autumn! 

    Like many, I celebrate the season by filling my lattes with pumpkin spice and my front steps with magnificent mums and decorated jack-o-lanterns of all sizes. 

    I find myself talking about the fabulous colors of the trees and the crisp air with total strangers. 

    I savor the metaphors and lessons in all of it!

    While on a family walk through the Penninsula State Park in Door Country, Wisconsin I was stopped in my tracks by THIS vibrant find. 

    Yes, the bright colors were stunning, but what really captured my heart was the contrast of happenings.

    Change is not all that pretty on most days. 

    And yet, it IS possible to shine bright with joy and hope in times of extreme loss and even death.

    Somehow seeing that this humble leaf can pull off such a heavy lift inspires me to dig deep and join in on the effort to be authentically beautiful in the midst of extreme difficulty.

    This picture reminds me that there is a loveliness in the imperfection of this process of change. Beauty and loss can coexist wonderfully.

    And, at the end of the day, the choice is ours amidst it all, to be radiant.
