    Whimsy is my happy place, which is one reason we seem to keep making our way to Key West, Florida, the home of such a unique brand of whimsy. 

    The bright colors and playful vibe give me a hop in my step that fills my cup to overflowing every single time.

    As we introduced our kids to Key West recently, we were collectively awe-struck by this guy. Sure, the island is filled with chickens of all shapes and sizes, but this picture-perfect posing rooster couldn’t resist the opportunity to stand tall, to literally rise and shine, right in our path.

    How often do I rise to the occasion to let my whimsy shine bright?

    Do I resist the urge to be noticed or notable, for fear of what others will think? Or maybe just a lack of intentionality amidst the busyness?

    Rising up, standing tall, and shining this bright in the midst of all that life throws at you is a beautiful gift to your soul and to those around you that are stuck in the muck of life.

    This picture reminds me that your light, my light, and our collective whimsy are remarkable and together we need to rise and shine!
