I was walking around downtown Asheville, North Carolina and spotted an item of baby clothing that said, "Naps Rule." I wholeheartedly agreed with that statement.
Later on, I was in a bookstore and saw some artwork that had been created by painting over a page in a book. I loved how you could see the text underneath and the depth that was created by combining paint with words.
This piece is the love child of those two little moments in Asheville.
I used a Sharpie and acrylic paint on top of a mattress advertisement from a newspaper. I thought the blue would add a soothing tone to the piece, and I especially like how welcoming that pillow is.
